Ten years of grass roots community effort by Advocates for a Healthy Community, Inc., led to the establishment of the Jordan Valley Community Health Center (JVCHC) in 2002. Serving the third largest community in Missouri, JVCHC delivers quality primary medical and dental care to residents in the Greene County region.

While Springfield boasts of a strong medical climate, community leaders continue to identify barriers to access in primary care.

As a newly formed health center, community partnerships have been vital to the assessment and planning processes necessary to identify gaps in the current delivery systems and form the framework of service delivery. As tribute to their grassroots leadership, the JVCHC was awarded the 2002 Salute to Health Care Award by the Springfield Chamber of Commerce.
